Beach House is Back, Baby!

After five years of designing a replacement for our old cabin, and a year of building, we can once again head to the beach house to relax.

Our new place, on the left, reflecting the delightful sunset

Well, relax might be too strong a word to start with: boxes were packed up, stored in a container alongside gas cans and garage piles, and moved back in, with few clues to where they now belong. And, everything, from dishes to clothes to bedding, needed a run through a washer. But — other than that, the view relaxes us, the quiet resets us, and the birdsong delights us, once again.

We are still only permitted for temporary occupancy, even after all that. There are small details to finish, and the larger issue of landscaping near an active seashore will take some more work to complete in the fall, when it makes sense to plant.

Once that’s all squared away, we’d love to share the place with anyone needing a change of view.
